Valance canopies are similar to portable garage and carport canopies in structure, except a valance canopy specifically has an overhang on each side. This particular canopy overhang is eight inches on each side regardless of the size of the canopy. A valance canopy, regardless of the overhang, is used for many of the same purposes as a portable garage or carport canopy, mainly to protect vehicles and equipment. As a result, valance canopy structures come in a variety of sizes, with the smallest valance canopy being ten feet by ten feet and the largest 30 by 50 feet. In between are valance canopies like a 10x20 valance canopy and 18x20 valance and enclosed canopies. Like any ordinary sturdy canopy structure, a valance canopy can become enclosed with a canopy kit to install side walls and zipper doors or flaps.

The size of a valance canopy can dictate what the canopy can over. Smaller size valance canopies can cover a smaller vehicle or act as storage. In the case of a singular vehicle, the smallest size valance canopy can cover a small car or a motorcycle, much like a carport. The largest valance canopy we carry, a 30 feet by 50 feet canopy, can cover multiple vehicles, and, if you own a few regularly-used or seasonal vehicles, this type of valance canopy could be enough protection for all of your investments. Valance canopies in the middle, such as 18x20 valance and enclosed canopies, can typically protect two vehicles and can be as effective as a two car garage for protection.
