Carnival tents start out as decorative carnival canopies, but the carnival canopy structures themselves need to be sturdy. Although similar in appearance to a typical enclosed canopy, carnival tents share many similarities to enclosed steel and polyethylene tarp structures, starting with a galvanized steel frame. However, these structures need to stand repeated use at a carnival – whether as a game booth, a food tent, or a shelter for cars. The tents need to be set up and taken down often, making each structure much like a carnival pop up canopy.
All carnival canopies are constructed from heavy duty tarps, each with a 600 denier count. Very similar to a heavy duty poly tarp for a portable garage or valance canopy, these structures have 100-percent UV protection and are coated to be fire resistant. Carnival canopies we carry through our store meet the following certifications: NFPA 701, CPAI 84-7, and California Title 19. However, a carnival canopy has additional unique protection properties for their use, and our carnival canopies are all equipped with 1000mmHg of water resisting pressure.
A carnival tent can be an open or closed structure. An open carnival tent is much like a valance canopy, with a heavy duty carnival canopy supported by a four panel peaked roof steel canopy frame. All of these carnival canopies can become enclosed carnival tents by adding additional walls. Our selection of walls and doors to enclose your carnival canopy include heavy duty tarp sidewalls with windows, a heavy duty tarp back wall, and a front roll-up and zipper door. To have a traditional carnival tent with bright stripes, we carry carnival canopies in colored stripes, including red, blue, or yellow stripes alternating with white. All carnival canopy pieces can be coordinated to look like a full large striped carnival tent. In addition, our selection of carnival canopies includes a white carnival canopy model – just white heavy duty tarps for a carnival tent – instead of striped carnival canopy pieces.
